-
- Materials accepted Don's (Futaba) manuscript on SWNT-solid.
- Field Emission Profiler arrived for use in our FED project.
- Dr. Ji-Yong Park from Korea visited our lab.
- Nature Nanotechnology accepted Yamada-san's manuscript on DWNT selectivesynthesis. We faced many difficulties in writing it, but the result is is everything! Congratulations!
- Dr. Zhao Bin joined our team as a new Post-Doctoral researcher.
Sept. 2006
-
- JACS accepted Hiraoka-sans manuscript on SWNT synthesis on metal foils. Congratulations Dr. Hiraoka!
- The new sputter machine for the capacitor project arrived.
- The new "I1" CVD reactor arrived.
- The American team led by Prof. Eklund, Prof. Ajayan, and Prof. Rao visited our laboratory to examine our CVDfacilities.
- Dr. Inakuma joined our group as a new Post-Doctoral researcher.
- Thanks to the work of Don (Futaba) and Tatsuki (Hiraoka), we saw big developments in the F4 CVD system. Production will be realized soon!
- Nano-Carbon group reorganization:
Dr. Saito and Dr. Oshima resigned from the Nano-Carbon team to for an independent team, and Dr. T. Yamada officially joined the Nano-Carbon team. The Nano-Carbon team and the Super-growth team are now combined.

- The Daily Yomiuri newspaper reported under a column named "At the moment" the details of the discovery and development of Super-growth. The story of our recent past appeared in this column.
- ISI reported original Super-growth paper, "Water-Assisted Highly Efficient Synthesis of Impurity-Free Single-Walled Carbon Nanotubes" as one of the HOT papers in chemistry.
- Finally, MF-0 CVD system arrived which will be used to for the industrial mass production of Super-growth SWNTs. My first impressions of MF-0 was "WOW! That is huge" and that makes me feel excited and tense.
- Mr. Hiraoka (now, Dr. Hiraoka) overcame various troubles and strict guidance and received his Doctorate without any problems! Congratulations!
- Prof. Esko Kauppinen visited our research lab.
- A collaborator Prof. Anvar Zakhidov from the University of Texas, Dallas visited our research lab.
July 2006
-
- At last, our joint project with Nihon Zeon Corp. and Nihon Chemicon started.
- Several projects have begun, so we are quickly recruiting new members. If you considering applying, please contact us. Particularly, we are looking for people who can join the FED project and the MEMS project.
- Super-growth was introduced on television.
June 2006
-
- Carbon Nanotube Capacitor Project was approved!
